Mixing , Mastering, Production
Two tracks made together with friend and incredible artist Jessy Lanza. I did synths, drum machines, co-writing and arrangement on two of her songs on her fantastic DJ Kicks compilation.
It was incredible to see Jessy hone our jams into tight pop forms that still worked in the club format, and we had the pleasure of mixing these tracks together in Different Fur Studios. I learned so much from the writing and the mixing sessions that I still use to this day.
Have worked with Baronhawk, one of the US’s most exciting and funky house producers, since their debut album.
This is their most recent EP which I mixed and engineered.
I love working with Baronhawk’s compositions to gift heft and space to all the elements in their tracks.
I am especially proud of my engineering of the drum sounds on this release which maintain a separated modern sound while still calling back to the warmth and grit of classic 90’s house and techno textures.
Recorded in my friend and mentor Jeremy Greenspan’s studio on analog synths and drum machines, mixing desk and vintage outboard fx. Using the entire studio in a completely ‘modular’ way rewired my musical brain too!
I love this album as a whole journey, and tracks from it have since been liscenced by the likes of Ostgut Ton for their Panorama Bar mix series
Mastered this young, very exciting artist’s debut album.
Approach was to make the album sound great across home and club listening environments, preserving the delicate analog palette and dynamics while making it live easily alongside other contemporary music in playlists and DJ sets.
I am an experienced studio engineer and producer who has co-produced, engineered, and mastered with many different artists. Here are some recent highlights. I am currently available for studio work in the San Francisco Bay Area at my own studio or yours, remotely, and will travel worldwide for the right project.
Arrangement, Mixing, Production on Hagop’s wonderful, personal debut album on Four Tet’s TEXT records. We took his sketches and field recordings from ideas to a fully formed album together. Read more about Hagop and our collaboration on Pitchfork.
One skills artists repeatedly call on me for is to make impactful arragenments out of their short sketches and loops.
On this project I was able to help my friend get tracks that had been gestating for months or even years past the finish line while still preserving his artistic personality.
Sean Isorhythmics makes his music using an inspired chaos of handmade drum machines, Max patches, vintage Romplers and medieval music composition chops.
I mixed and mastered this, his debut album at my studio in San Francisco.
It was super fun and challenging to glue together all the recording techniques, mixed fidelities and musical visions into a cohesive whole
